about

An album of slow minimalist piano compositions measuring various layers of grief and loss.

While the title is tongue well in cheek, the sentiment of loss is real, and the analogy is appropriate: paint has particular chemical stages of drying - from the evaporation of its fluid components to its final hardened state - which easily equate with emotional & psychological states in the slow process of grief.

Watching paint dry, usually a euphemism for boredom, may also describe a more internal state, the watching of deep emptiness in life. Progress appears imperceptible, timesense is altered, a white void. Motion is in being still, and invisible things coalesce in the spaces between moments.
