about

A second ReMangling of an earlier album, continuing a musical cut-up / collaging process I also applied to the recent Asp Burger ReMangled album. This time I've revisited my 'existential spaghetti western' album from 2018, Gringo!, and given it the treatment.

In reconstructing the pieces that became For A Few Gringos More, I've stripped a lot back, highlighting melodies on cello, doublebass and electric guitar, and focusing mainly on the Latin elements of the original album.

Naturally, I've messed with the sounds in places, and I hope it adds a sense of space (inner & intergalactic), of slow motion in the heat, of unforgiving desert & searing skies. Part cowboys on valium and part aliens on tequila, there are many expansive, spacious textures here, moving slowly through the hot atmosphere and warping sinuously in and out of shape.

Only about half of the original album has been used as source material here, but the sounds are still very spaghetti western & slightly bent Latin.
